Dear all,

After running an upgrade to Jira 8.16, users reported that they are not able to run anymore MP4 video on issue attachement, as they was able to do it before the upgrade.

After investigation we notice it has been reported as a regression bug from the ticket below :

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-72275

We would like to add the work around describe in the ticket but I do not understand how to set it and where

Any idea how to add this properties to the Advance parameters list ?

Thanks for help

regards

Hi Serge,

Sorry to hear about this problem.  You are correct that this bug ticket has not yet been resolved and Jira Server 8.16.0 is affected by this.  That ticket speaks of a dark feature workaround here.

Please see Enable Dark Feature in Jira for more details.  Essentially, as a system admin you can navigate to <Jira_URL>/secure/SiteDarkFeatures!default.jspa

in order to see location where you can add this particular key.  In this case, the workaround states to add a Site Wide Dark Feature called

jira.security.csp.sandbox.disabled

Try that and let me know if that helps.

Hi Andy

We're also affected by this issue on one of our newly upgraded instances of Jira. What other implications would adding that dark feature have? Would it make the instance vulnerable in any way? I'm just trying to understand if there are any potential risks involved in that workaround before testing it out in our staging environment.

Cheers,
Gareth H
