Manual rule to get input from users from options populated from a list of existing values?

I am new to automation and trying to figure out if it is possible to ask for user input and populate the field options with values from a list of available values in a project (e.g. components).

For example, ask for users to select a component (which selected component will be used in the automation action) from a drop-down populated with existing project components:

That does not appear to be possible yet.  There is a related suggestion which you can watch/vote for to see progress: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/AUTO-744

You could also create a specific suggestion around using the project information to supply the input fields.

Thank you, @Bill Sheboy A shame that it is not available yet but I added my vote to the suggestion you shared in your answer and added a comment to it as well.

I will watch its progress and see if I find a workaround while exploring Automation options and templates.
