I very recently inherited a Jira Server instance at work. I recently updated it from 7.2 to 8.5 and then to 8.13.9 and it has been running on MariaDB 10.2 this whole time. I know that this is not supported and there have been no issues so far. I would like to do a proper migration from MariaDB to MySQL 8,0. This system is currently running CentOS 7.6. I would like to take care of this before arranging for the server move to Data Center edition.
Does anyone have any recommendations for this process? I was thinking of setting up MySQL 8 on another server and slaving it to the MariaDB database and then when Data Center version arrives, put it on the server that runs MySQL 8.
Thoughts, hints and comments appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi Darin,
I wonder if this may help you (in case you haven't seen it):

Thanks! I had not seen this, but this is for WordPress. If this will work for Jira as well, then I'll give it a try.
