Migrate issues from Server to Cloud

Hello,

Recently we migrated from from Jira Server to Jira Cloud, about 3 months.

Techincal Support - SalesForce in this period worked with Jira Server, and right now we integrated SF with Cloud, but the we have about 100 issues tha were created only in server.

We want to export this issues.

The idea is that:

- The issues are connected with SalesForce with a plugin ( in server ), if we export and import them these issues will not be connected with SF (the issues are not in Done status)

- The issues that were migrated at this moment are not uptated, we need to updated them manually? (again the issues are not connected with SF plugin)

-In the cloud for these issues from Techincal Support we created a new issue type, we can migrate them from a different issue type to this new one:?

Summarized i want a method to migrate the issues in cloud as a new issue type with all the information + to connect them with the cases from SalesForce + to updated the old issues, not manually.

Best regards,

David.

Hi @David Pleşu ,

Thanks for your question.  Noel here from the support team.

To understand the current situation, there are about 100 JIRA issues in JIRA Server associated to Salesforce, and the idea is to export these 100 JIRA issues to JIRA Cloud while maintaining the associations.  May we know if we understood you correctly?

If so, the best way to achieve this is to first migrate the 100 issues to Cloud (can be via CSV), and re-associate the associations via JIRA issue property entry

The associations of each JIRA issue is stored in JIRA issue property entry.  We can make an API call to associate.

We also want to investigate deeper into this.  Would you be able to open a support request from here? We can also jump into a call.

Thanks David, looking forward for your update.

Noel

Hi @David Pleşu , thanks for your question.

Have you considered opening a MOVE ticket with Atlassian? Atlassian Support

I would just paste this question into the ticket to ask their advice. Even as partners supporting migrations, we are encouraged to open up a ticket with Altassian so they can be on call with support.

It is possible to import issues into Jira Cloud from a .csv file, but. not having much experience with SalesForce integrations, I think Atlassian would be better placed to help.

Cheers

Hi @David Pleşu -

May I ask which plug-in you're using currently?

Hi @jennifer.dempsey_Appfire ,

We are using Connector for Salesforce & Jira, by AppFire, to understand the one that you are working with.
