Migration from rally to JIRA

Has anyone done a migration from rally to jira? Have you used a csv file? What are the limitations?

Hi Andrew,

csv, does not carry history, Sprint information and attachments are very tricky.

In other words you will get the main information but not the Agile Boards and their historic data.

Different Atlassian Solution partners (Botron Software that I represent included) have custom solutions for the migrations but they of course will be commercial. Good news is that you have a choice - free with data loss - csv, no data loss commercial.

How do Rally Portfolio items map to Jira giving that there is only one level epic in Jira. Will this required portfolio plug in for Jira installed first?

Hi Michael,

Portfolio is one option, second option is the create hierarchy using the native functionality around issue linking an visualize with Structure or other add-on for JIRA.
