Migration of issue scheme causes timeout in Jira

Dan Churchill October 17, 2018

We have a project with about 6500 tasks and when we perform an issue scheme migration to a new scheme it times out when doing one particular issue type that has 2500 issues within it.

This is on Jira Cloud, is there a way to work around this?

Hi Dan,

If you try to bulk migrate any other issue type that has the same or almost the same number of tickets, does it work correctly?
We would like to try to reproduce the error, can you please let us know what is the affected issue type and the steps that you are following to migrate the schemes?

Regards,
Angélica

Hey @Angélica Luz, sorry for the delay here.

I've created another ticket since I forgot about this one and didn't do the migration for a while. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Bulk-migrating-issue-types-timeout/qaq-p/942394?utm_source=atlcomm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=immediate_general_reply&utm_content=topic#U942432

I thought to get around it I could split up the 2500 tickets into smaller buckets, but the problem is now on a ticket type (Bug type) which has much less number of tickets so not sure what the problem is now.

Hi Dan,

I've checked the other question and they suggested to open a ticket and a support engineer is already helping you.
Let us focus on the ticket to avoid any possible misunderstandings or miscommunication that may arise from discussing the same matter in two different platforms.

Regards,
Angélica
