Migration of multiple Jira instances to a single instance by multi-tenant Feature.

Hi,

We have 3 instances like Jira-A, Jira-B, Jira-C servers and migrating to one server "Jira-ABC", which is possible.

But in our requirement, Jira-A users would not see/invisible the Projects of Jira-B & Jira-C servers and vice-versa, this is nothing called multi-tenant feature.

I just want to know that, is this possible? Please let me know.

Assume, all 3 Jira users are in one Jira-ABC instance, Jira-A users shouldn’t be able to see Jira-B users as from their email addresses, it will be quite evident who the customer is.

Yes.  In order to avoid this, a Jira admin can configure user email visibility.  This is a global setting.

The options are:

• PUBLIC - email addresses are visible to all.
• HIDDEN - email addresses are hidden from all users.
• MASKED - the email address is masked (e.g. 'user@example.com' is displayed as 'user at example dot com').
• LOGGED IN USERS ONLY - only users logged in to Jira can view the email addresses.

      Default: PUBLIC

This options: "Indicates who can view user email on the user profile page"

Assume, all 3 Jira users(Jira-A, Jira-B, Jira-C) are in one Jira-ABC instance, Jira-A users shouldn’t be able to see (Or mention in Comments, Descriptions, etc.) Jira-B users. But Jira-A users have to see and able to mention themselves.

HI @Fayaz Abdul - Once you grant users the Browse users global permission they can see all users on the site.  So, for those who do not have that permission, they can mention themselves but know one else unless they know the username already.

yes it is possible. you just have to make sure Jira-A users don't have the "browse project" permission on all projects of Jira-B & C.

Hi Fayaz - to do this you can create a group in Jira-ABC that contains only users from Jira-B and Jira-C.  Then you would configure the permission schemes and project roles in the projects from Jira-B and Jira-C to restrict the "Browse Projects" permission to members of that new group.
