Hi tech support,
I've just upgraded to JIRA 8.2.1 and cannot see any menus on the top of the screen. The previous version installed on my machine (October 2016) was uninstalled prior to installing the current instance of JIRA.
I have tried both chrome and internet explorer and both show the same thing.
Any advice on how to regain access to menus would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Anton
Hi @antonlord
Do you get any error when JIRA starts relating to this in the log-file?
Have you reviewed this? https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/board-tab-in-jira-missing-jira-software-application-799801745.html
It's not quite clear if what your fault is. Is the button for "Boards" missing or is the menu empty? Under applications does JIRA Software report any problems?
Thanks
Venkatesh
Hi Venkatesh,
Thanks for your reply.
The entire menu bar is blank, so I can only navigate by typing exact addresses into the address bar. Having said that, I can access different pages that way if I know the exact addresses.
From the link you sent me I believe the issue might be traced through the log files.
from the jirasoftware-stderr file I can see a warning stating the following:
'The web application [ROOT] registered the JDBC driver [org.h2.Driver] but failed to unregister it when the web application was stopped. To prevent a memory leak, the JDBC Driver has been forcibly unregistered'
In the jirasoftware-stdout I can see errors such as the following:
'ERROR: Bundle com.atlassian.jira.issue-link-applinks-common-plugin [61] EventDispatcher: Error during dispatch (java.lang.NullPointerException)'
This seems to stem from an earlier issue (below):
JIRA-Bootstrap ERROR [c.a.jira.startup.DefaultJiraLauncher] JIRA has failed to start because of the following errors: [(Event: Level = (EventLevel: fatal) , Key = (EventType: startup-unexpected) , Desc = We couldn't start JIRA , Exception = An error occurred while trying to start JIRA. If there's more detail or anywhere else I should look please let me know.
