Moving issues from one project backlog/sprint to another project backlog/sprint

Hi!

A similar question has been asked but the question and answers are too advanced for me. So here you go:

I have an epic with a number of tasks in the active sprint of a project. That project has grown and I now want to move the entire epic, with all its tasks to a new project and that project backlog. From there I will create sprints and move the issues to different sprints.

I have managed to to a bulk move of issues to the new project, but here lies my conundrum; I see the epic with all the issues in my new project "issues", but they are still linked to the previous project sprint, and I can't change that to placing them in my new project backlog.  And, funnily enough, they are still listed in the previous project board as part of the actual sprint, but NOT visible in the "active sprints".

Help!

Hi Marilyn, welcome to the Community. So it seems you have moved the issues and epics to the new project and the non remaining piece is to have the issue not appearing in the old project. Correct?  Regarding the sprint issue, you should look at the sprint field and be sure to remove the Old sprint value. Once that is clear please reinspect things.

Hi!

I can see what sprint it is in currently in the issue information under "Agile" on the right side, but I can't find a way of removing that information or changing anything there. I don't see any other "sprint" field.
