Kia Ora - I am trying to create an automation rule where I'm making a value field change in "issue A" and the linked issue (via 'relates to') has a particular field update too.
I have followed the following:
1. WHEN value changes for: we believe that (in Project A issue)
2. THEN lookup issues: issue in linkedIssues("{{triggerissue.key}}", "relates to")
3. AND EDIT issue fields: We Believe that (by doing something) (in Project B issue)
I make a change in the trigger issue... but that value change doesn't update in the 'relates to' linked issue.
When i check the audit logs... there is no error... its looks as though my 'trigger issue' (Project A) hasn't been impacted at all
Support/ ideas - much appreciated.
Hello @Selena Peri
Rather than using Lookup Issues you should use a Branch - For Each, Related Issues, Linked Issues. Then put the Edit action as a subordinate task within the branch.
You need to change the focus in the rule from the trigger issue to the linked issues. The Lookup Issues action does not do that.
