Need custom feild with prefilled value ( defaulted value ) on transition screens

Garden16_ February 5, 2022

I need a simple read only field

which says custom field issue type with default value Defect

issue type: Defect

on the transition screen

I created addd the custom issue type field  ( text field)  and added a default value as Defect . But when I open the Transition, the field is blank , it is not showing the default value

I would like to just display the issue type and it’s value

I tried with text read only custom field . It doesn’t work

I also tried scripted feild with value , that also didn’t work , it never got displayed on the transition screen despite adding it

could you please suggest any alternate solution for this

I need just simple custom feild by name Issue type  with default value to be auto populated as Defect.

This worked Tim . Thank you so much!! . Is it possible to add the avatar image such as this in the field. Right now I am able to  add text  QA defect and it is working correctly. Is there a way to  add the avatar image next to it. I want  something similar to this below.  Kindly, let me know.

I am sorry, but I do not understand the question.  You say

>I need a simple read only field

>...

> and added a default value as Defect . But when I open the Transition, the field is blank , it is not showing the default value

Why would a read-only field have a default value?  By definition, a read-only field cannot be given a value by the humans, it's read-only.

Could you explain to us what problem you are trying to solve here?
