I am the admin and site admin for JIRA. I had a user create a next gen project and mark it private. I cannot add people to the project. As the global admin, why can I not do this?
The person who set up the project is out of office for FMLA.
Thanks, Kathi
@Kathi Paquet You cannot add people to a next-gen project whose access level is private. Please see this Atlassian doc for more details about next-gen project permissions.
As a JIRA admin, you can see this private project in the project directory.
May be you can try to change the access level of this project to "Limited" to give all users in your instance the view and comment access for issues in the project.
OR
You may try adding yourself as the Project Administrator of this project (not sure if this is possible or not though)
I have a similar issue; I am a site admin, and cannot change the access level of the project (as you suggest above) or find any other way to access it. I can't even tell who set the project to private! This seems like a real shortcoming in the "next gen" world; is it being addressed?

I am also a site admin, regular admin as well as admin of a next-gen project that I created last week. I cannot change the access level of this project! I also cannot assign anyone a Member role, only an Administrator role. What am I missing?
