Hi.
I am new to JIRA and have just created my first next-gen project. There are a couple of features I need, which I don't think exist (yet), but wanted to double check.
The ability to:
- create custom views/reports showing all issues with a particular attribute (e.g. a custom drop down list specifying which team raised the issue, set to a particular value), aggregating story point estimates for the result set?
- create custom People fields in an issue - so we can log who is the Requestor, who is the Business Sponsor etc, all from the JIRA user database?
Thanks in advance.
Ian.
Hi Ian,
Thank you for reaching out to our Community!
Currently, it's possible to use two types of reports on next-gen projects: Burnup and Velocity reports.
Please, check our documentation to find more details about each report:
- Reports
Regarding people fields, on next-gen projects, we don't have the option to add "User picker" fields. Assignee and Reporter are default fields on Jira, but it will not be possible to add more fields in order to select users. We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Angélica
Hi @Angélica Luz,
On this topic, it seems that the "Create New Field Type" section includes a "People" field. However, when you use this, the field is not editable by users on the board.
What is the intended use of this type of custom field?

Hi Bronté,
I was able to reproduce the same issue and I checked that it was reported as a bug:
- People field in next-gen does not browse user in issue view
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the bug.
This field will work the same as "User picker" custom field.
Regards,
Angélica

Status of that tracking bug seems to have been closed, but its not resolved yet. It is not working as expected in my NEXT GEN JIRA CLOUD project.
