No Backlog on sidebar in new Classic software project?

I only see my board and the Kanban board at the top of the sidebar in my new Classic software project.  How do I add the "Backlog" option?

can you share a screenshot. There are a couple of possible reasons, e.g. the board is the default board that comes w/ the project when created and not an actual kanban board w/ configuration settings or maybe it is a Kanban and you have not configured it for a backlog. Or something else entirely. :-)

ok so my guess is that you have not enabled backlog for that board. Check the board settings > columns and see. you should see a backlog column on far left. to enable you have to drag over on or more statuses. typically the ToDo status
