No permissions to newly created project?

Douglas Lee October 5, 2018

I'm a site administrator for my site.  I've just created a new project, but when I try to access it, I only see a page that says:

==============================================

This project isn't available

It may have been deleted or your permissions may have changed.

==============================================

Please advise.

Thanks!

Hello,

You may be a site administrator but if you don't have permission to access the project, you still cannot see it.  You can go to permission schemes, find the one that project is using and check out the permissions. You may not have browse project permission. If you give yourself browse project permission you should be able to see.

Thanks for this hint.  My project has the Default Permission scheme, which is used by all of my other projects (which I don't have any problem accessing).

It turns out that I needed to update the "People" settings on my project.  I had wanted to check that earlier, but I usually get there by going to the project first and then to its Settings.  But I couldn't do that since I couldn't get to the project's page.  By going through the Permission Schemes, I was able to get into the project's settings and update the Roles so that I could access/browse the project.
