Hello!
I'm not sure what permission needs to be updated to have this work... But we're trying to allow our clients to have view access to a specific saved filter in Jira. When we got to save the filter, we select the following:
Project > [PROJECT] > [ROLE]
However, our "Client" role is not appearing in this list despite being an active role in the project (i.e. several people are assigned to this role). I tried updating global permissions on the accompanying "Clients" group to include the two Global Permissions focused on filters (share filters and manage filter subscriptions), but this did not make the role available to select.
Please tell me I'm missing something obvious!
You can only share a filter to the role or group which you are a member of so if you have the user role in a project then you can share the filter to the user role.
Assign yourself to the client role then you should be able to assign view rights to that role.
Hello @Nick K_ ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The Global permissions you mention are to allow the ability to create shared filters and subscriptions. Your clients don't need the permission. Only the creator of the shared filter.
Just to double-check. Do you (the filter creator) have these permissions?

@[deleted] Hello! Thank you for the speedy response!
Yeah, that's what I was I thinking too, but was grasping at straws at that point! Yes, I do have the permissions to make and edit filters. I am the Site Admin for our instance, so I have "god-mode" permissions across the board.

I'm looking for a "Clients" role to appear in that drop-down. Again, the role is assigned to a number of people within that project. So I'm not sure how it's populating that list? The three roles that are showing up are assigned to user groups, while "Clients" is assigned to individual users. Is that the difference?
