Not able to edit Sprint details upon selecting "create sprint"

Hello...

In my project that was originally set as a KanBan, but converted to Scrum, when I select "create Sprint," The sprint is auto generated.  I'm not able to set start and end dates nor the name of the sprint.  I has admin access, so I feel like there is a setting that is not correct in my project.  In another project, I do not have this issue, but I am just not "spotting" what I have set incorrectly.

Thank you!!

- Start and End dates are entered when you start the sprint, and then you can edit them.  Are you trying to edit the dates for an Active sprint (sprint started)?

- the other place to check is your permission scheme: Manage Sprints.  But without Manage Sprint access you cannot create the sprint.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply, but my issue is that when I select "Create Sprint" it is instantly created. I don't get a pop-up to name the sprint nor set the start and end dates. Once created, edit only provides the name and and description field to edit.

Yes, Create Sprint will create a sprint immediately, with the default next sprint number.  After creating a sprint, you can

- Change the name

- add sprint goal (description)

- move up and down the sprint in the order

- Delete the sprint

- add issues/tickets to the sprint

When you 'Start Sprint' - you can

- update the sprint name

- Add sprint goal/update sprint goal

- provide start and end dates / or duration

If you are ready to start the sprint, you can try 'Start' and verify if you are able to add dates

In the other project where you are able to edit the sprint, verify if it is already 'Active'.

Note: I am using JIRA Server and  I assume the Cloud sprint functionality is no different .  if it is different refer to the respective documentation

Thank you!

I see my error now.  I am able to set start and end dates once I "start" my sprint!

Thank you for your help!
