Hi Team, need your help to understand if there is any way for the below queries.
I am using one filter, and it resulted some JIRA issues like below. In this view I am able to edit the values of Assignee, Priority and Status but NOT able to edit Developer and QA.
Basically, JIRA is not allowing to update the custom fields in a filter view. Is there any solutions to this.
Note: I am using JIRA cloud and I have admin access.
Hi @Sabyasachi Samal ,
I don't see Atlassian mentioned that we can edit the field values from filter results. Only Edit status without opening issues is mentioned

HI @Rilwan Ahmed ,
Thanks for your quick response. Even though JIRA mentions only Status can be updated. But it allows to edit all the pre-defined fields like Summery, Assignee, Status, Sprint, Due date etc
I am looking for if there is any option to edit custom fields without opening the issue.

from what I understand, only a few fields are editable directly from the search result.
This being said, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you'll have a couple of options for easier inline issue editing. I'll add more information below.
Best,
Hannes

... and to expand on my last point: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you might want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. This works for all standard fields, but also for all custom fields, like so:
Assigned team is a custom field - and this would work for any other custom field type, too.
I should add that JXL can do much more than the above: From support for configurable issue hierarchies, to issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know!

Hi @Sabyasachi Samal what field type are those fields? Either Text or Dropdown can be edited from the List View.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Those fields are User picker, Date Picker and Number fields.
There is also one field with type Select List, but this is also not editable.
