Hi !
In Company managed project ---- Despite selecting "Hide all completed Epic Issues" in view setting on Roadmap, still all issues with Done/Released status showing up under Epics.
I want to hide all completed issues under Epics on Roadmap.
Kindly assist.
Thank You
Hi @Parveen Vats , thanks for your question. Please check the workflows for the issues that are still showing, even though they are in a done status, that there is a post function on the transition to set the resolution. Jira still considers issues open until they have a resolution, as they are still unresolved.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Hi @Valerie Knapp
Thanks for quick response.
what do you mean by this - "that there is a post function on the transition to set the resolution. "
How to resolve this ? If you can guide, I am little new to all this

Hi @Parveen Vats , thanks for your message. This is what I mean -
If you go into the Jira system settings, Issue menu and find the workflow for the issue type, you will need to edit it to get a view like this
Here, I have clicked on the arrow next to the Done transition and you can see this box pops up on the right. This is where you can set any kind of automations for the transition to the status of Done. In this case, we are not interested in limiting who can view and execute this transition (Conditions), or checking for something to be added or updated during the transition (Validators), we want to do something after the transition has taken place. We want to update the resolution post transition, for which we need a post function.
If you click on Post Functions, you will see a list of actions that happen after the transition. If the Resolution wasn't already being set, you would click on, 'Add post function'
and then the next screens take you through the steps to find the field you want to update
and here you choose the Resolution, hit add, and then publish the workflow
You can tell this has worked when you transition a Subtask to a done status and there is a resolution here next to the status -
I hope this helps you but if you need further assistance, please just let us know.
Cheers

Hi @Valerie Knapp
Thanks a ton. Your suggestion/solution helped me pushing completed issues to resolved status which were not resolved. They were just done. Thanks for clearing this thing that there is difference between done and resolved tickets. Now all done issues are striked off by marking them to Resolved.
But Still they are showing up under Epic even after in view setting "Hide all completed issues in Epic" is selected.
BY applying filter I can hide them but I want them not to show up automatically whenever I am vising Roadmap.
Completed issues are striked off but not hiding still. If you can help me setting this as well.
Regards
Parveen

Hi @Parveen Vats , thanks for your message.
The only way I got the Epic to hide was if everything, including the child issues, is in Done-
Even when both child issues were in Done, I still saw the Epic.
I agree that in reading the documentation, Change how many completed issues show on your timeline | Jira Software Cloud | Atlassian Support, it is not very clear. However, it seems the Epic only gets hidden when everything is done.
I hope this helps. but if not, please give some more feedback and myself or someone else will try to help.
Cheers

Hello @Valerie Knapp
Yes! Even I feel the same that once all child issues are done then only it won't show up.
I'll keep a check on this now :)
Thank you so much for all help. It made me learn new things. I really appreciate.
Best Regards
Parveen

Hi !
I am planning for some certifications in Jira (step by step)
APB-330 Jira Cloud Essentials with Agile Mindset Pro Skills Badge -- I am going for this certification at first.
Atlassian course related to this I did. Sample questions given there were few only.
Can you suggest me from where I can prepare for it properly ? Sample papers, more questions etc.
Thanks
