Not receiving email notifications from JIRA even though my profile settings are set up correctly to receive email notifications.
It has been this way since March 8th and I have to go to the notifications icon and keep checking to see if there are any recent items that I need to work on periodically.
This is not ideal
It seems that this is general problem on complete Jira.
We are having same problem (after last Jira update).
We open a support case directly to Atlassian to see what is going on.
If we get some more information's, I can share them here.
Martin,
Thank you for your response. Will update what I hear as well. Appreciate you chiming in.

Dear Sathiya,
This problem should be reported to Atlassian directly.
They need check if some your jira users are on suppression list.
If that will not help, then you should check your firewall setting's and whitelist those IP's :

Have you checked in with your Project Administrator and/or Jira Administrators to confirm that Jira is actually generating notifications to send to you? Notification schemes may have been changed such that Jira is no longer configured to send notifications to you. A Jira Administrator can use the Notification Helper to confirm that for specified events on specified issues an notification would be sent to you.
If you find that Jira is configured properly to try to send you notifications, then it is possible that your email has gotten blacklisted on the Atlassian side. You or your Jira Administrators will need to open a support case directly with Altassian Support to find out if that is the case and get it whitelisted again.

Trudy,
Thanks. I have passed on this info to our JIRA administrators. Will keep you all posted.
