On Hold Issues Disappear from Project

Amy Taylor April 3, 2018

Cannot figure out how or why any issue placed on-hold in the current sprint disappears from the entire project once that sprint is completed. Please help as I now have lost visibility on 33 issues and the only way to view them is by running a smart query. I've updated the status on several of these tickets back to Scheduled, In Progress, In Testing etc... to see if they will show back up on the board but that does not work.

How are you making issues "on hold"?  Is it a flag of some sort?  A status?  A procedure?

We set up a column with the title On Hold and have that status mapped to it. It is the only status mapped to that column with Closed and Resolved not being mapped to any column as we do not want those visible. When I close a sprint anything in the On-Hold column shows as complete and then disappears from our board.

The On-Hold column is green when all others are blue. We added a new column "On Hold 2" to the board to see what would happen and I've attached images of the results after we mapped that status to the new one. Changed from blue to green and issues still disappear.

This is probably something soooo simple but I didn't set up the board originally and am not sure how to fix it. Suggestions? Thanks!

The sprint works off the right-most column being equivalent to work completed. Since on hold is in that position those issues disappear from board when closing sprint. You should have a done column on far right. If you don’t want to see them then set up a quick filter to hide done.

Thanks Jack! Makes total sense. Knew it was something simple :)
