Once Atlassian has moved a feature request to In Progress, typically how long until it's released?

ETC DevOps October 22, 2018

We're following this request for email batching:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-1369

It is now in progress and we're excited for that to be implemented as part of the core Jira product. We're wondering how long things take normally to get implemented and roughly when we might see this implemented in a release we can upgrade to.

I tried searching for a post somewhere that details this process in greater depth but was unable to find one. The words I was using pulled up lots of tips for how to configure my workflows, but nothing from Atlassian on their process.

Knowing how far out this might be will help us in deciding if we should pick up a plugin to fill in until its implemented.

This will be part of Jira 8 release that was announced at the Atlassian Summit. Jira 8 is expected to be release later this year.

Here is the link to the Jira state of the union, where email batching is mentioned.

Awesome, thank you for responding.

Is that kind of time frame the norm for Jira Server?

It depends on the feature. This year Atlassian worked on many of the highly voted features as they renewed the approach to highly voted features.

Thank you, this has been helpful.
