I am having an issue around the Components field.
In the Components screen I can see all the components for a specific project listed in alphabetical descending order by default.
The problem I have is when creating a new issue and expand the list of components, how those components are ordered seems to be random.
Is there a way to have the list of selectable components when creating an issue be in some alphabetical order?
Hi @Ben Muise -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I believe that list is currently by "created" order of the components, and there are a couple of open suggestions/defects to fix this. Please take a look and watch/vote for them to see progress:

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the clarification and pointing me to the right suggestion links.

JRACLOUD-71419 "gathering interest" for 4 years.
JRACLOUD-76703 "open" for 2 years.
I wish it wasn't the case, but since migrating from Server to Cloud I've lost so many basic features it's laughable. It seems every time I search for a solution to a difference between Server and Cloud there's at least one existing issue that is Open or "Gathering Interest" for years, some as much as 12 years!
I appreciate the research on your part Bill, I'm just deeply frustrated by Atlassian's lack of movement on so many simple fixes.

Agreed, as I am just another customer :^)
There are some very old, basic suggestions that have lingered. Often I find a need to build my own, or buy, to fill those gaps. The products do continue to improve over time, yet I do wonder about the decision-making on the product teams.
Kind regards,
Bill
