Our Jira Server License

Hi,

As shown in the attached screenshot, our Jira Server License will expire on 25th Feb 2022. It needs $6650 to renew it.

My question is:

Is renewal required to get support and to be able to download fixes and patches only? or without renewal our Jira will not work?

Hi @Sobhy Admin ,

JIRA server licenses are perpetual. It means that if you don't renew them, you can continue to use JIRA but without support or upgrade feature.

Please, take in mind, that Atlassian is going to end support for server (https://www.atlassian.com/migration/assess/journey-to-cloud). You should plan to move your instance to a data center or a cloud instance.

In the meantime, even if you don't renew licenses, you can continue to use JIRA as is.

One last point please, if I don't renew Jira, I will not be able to use upgrade feature. What about the installed software on Jira such as BigPicture for example, can I upgrade such software or not? My license for BigPicture is renewed.

you should be able to upgrade BigPicture if your license has been renewed.

If your BigPicture license is valid, you can continue to update the plugin as soon as a new release is available on the Marketplace.

However, please pay attention to BigPicture and Jira versions compatibility when you're planning an update. You can check it here.

I accepted your answer, sorry for the delay.

I have other question: We will not renew the SERVER JIRA LICENSE for this year. So we will continue using SERVER JIRA license without support and without updating feature. Then next year we will migrate to the CLOUD JIRA license. The question is: Since we did not renew the license this year and we will migrate to CLOUD next year, will we need to buy a license from scratch next year or will we only pay for the renewal?
