New to JIRA Admin role (back up).
Started seeing outside users (not authorized or invited by our instance of JIRA) join our JIRA instance. Meaning, a user from an outside organization X that has their own JIRA instance is notified by our instance of JIRA Y on their request to get a license (in JIRA Y environment).
How do I address this issue so that outside users (JIRA X) are not directed to our (JIRA Y) instance? Thank you.
Can you check on your User Access settings in your organizations administration section? You'll want to make sure these are locked down so that users outside your domain cannot be invited by other users from your org.
@Kian Stack Mumo Systems thank you for your answer. We do work with other vendors and allow users from other organizations (email addresses) to request an account. However, in this case, a user (from an outside organization) that is not authorized to work with us (although the email address of the outside organization was allowed). We only want authorized users from outside organization be able to activate an account, vs an outside organization user was able to join our instance of JIRA (without approval) instead of JIRA instance of their own (organization).

You should make all users from domains outside of your go through your admins for approval.

I have contacted JIRA support and recieved the below recommendation:
Our suggested solution would be to modify the settings for your approved domains so that Admins of your Org are required to approve product access.
