I imported several Redmine issues that are in a parent-child relationship. To maintain that kind of relationship, I followed the official documentation and created new issue link type "Hierarchy" that has "parent of" as outward and "child of" as inward description.
However, in JIRA parent issues list their children with description "child of", children list their parent with label "parent of". Is this way of labeling intended? I would expect exactly the other way around. For instance, if I would browse the details of a parent issue with some children, I would expect a list of all children that would be labeled with "parent of".
Note that changing "Outward Description" to "child of" and "Inward Description" to "parent of" could be a workaround. However, I do not know whether this fixes the symptom on the surface only, or the cause as well.
The import plugin says that there is no parent exist if I correct the hierarchy direction (make outward “child of is”).
Is there any workaround?
