Plugin : Automation for Jira

Hello Team ,

Our Jira is hosted On server.

We Have already installed the plugin automation for jira : Lite 

My requirement is depending on some custom field .

Let suppose the custom field is A .

A  has value in between 99 -101 .

The workflow should automatically transit  to  "Done" .

If not then it should transit to some other status .

To achieve this I read , Custom Rule will be Helpful .

On field Value Changed , But its pro level .

I think we need to upgrade it to paid version to have this feature .

But Across some Atlassian article I saw the :

Deprecation of Automation for Jira Server application in the marketplace

With the inclusion of Automation for Jira in Data Center, and the A4J DC app becoming zero-dollar we will be delisting Automation for the Jira Server app from the marketplace on June 30, 2022. We will continue to support customers with an active license and maintain the Automation for Jira Server app within the bounds of the Server EoL policy (Feb 15, 2024).

What does it mean for Server customers?

• After June 30th, 2022 you will not be able to purchase or request a quote for this app anymore. If you’d like to leverage Jira’s automation capabilities, we recommend migrating to either Cloud or Data Center.

• If you have an existing license of Automation for Jira Server you can continue to renew support and maintenance for these apps until the end of the support date.

So after 30th June 2022 we will not be able to use this plugin if we are on server .

Even if we buy there will not be any worth .

Could you please let me know I am going in correct path and the information is correct .

Also if this is the case , Please suggest the alternative way to achieve this requirement .

Any plugin or scripts .

Suggestion much appreciated .

Hi @Priti Sonar 

If you want to buy Automation for Jira Server, you need to do it fast before it's removed from the Marketplace in a couple days. As long as you purchase it or get a quote before June 30th, you will be able to use it after that date.

If you miss the date, you will need to migrate your instance to Data Center in order to benefit from Automation for Jira.

But  after the date the plugin will be deprecated , Do we able to use the feature of plugin if we buy , Can we use it after 30th june 2022 and so on .

Deprecation does not mean that the app will not work on your instance after June 30th, just that the app is entering an end of life period (end of sales, future end of support).

So yes, you will be able to use the app after June 30th if you purchase it before that date.

Please clarify is it end of life only applicable to server license? whether it will available in Jira DC or CLoud?

Since the cost analysis and approval is in progress, Is there any possible way that we get a data extend consideration to buy the plugin server license post June 30th?

If you request a quote by June 30th, you can complete the actual purchase afterwards, but there is no other date extension.
