If you have different projects that you want to keep separate with different backlogs in order to have some kind of priority in there, but still want a possibility to use all of them in one Kanban board, is there a possibility for this?
I know you can move issues from one project to another, but this is not what I want. Ideally I would like to so the project belonging as well in the combined kanban view. I can't find any way to do this.
There are other forms of categorizations possibilities like labels and components. But these do not seem to allow me to work with priorities simply within the lavel/component.
Appreciate any hints on this question.
Hi Tobias
Yes, a board is just a view into one or more projects.
So, you could create a new board with a filter like
project in (ABC, KLM, XYZ)
where ABC, KLM and XYZ are three projects that you want included.
Any changes that are made to those projects will show up in your Kanban board
Great! Thanks. Though I don't get this to work. Her'e's what I have tried so far.
Creating a new board I guess means creating a new empty project. When I do this and implicitly create the associated Kanban board, I see no option for choosing a filter query for the board.
As for trying to editing the filter of an an existing board, it does not seem to be possible:
It seams like the filter exists in the Kanban board settings general section looking something like what is shown in the attached image below. I highlighted what seems to be the filter applied to the current project Kanban board. In the "Edit Filter Query" link I seem to reach a view where I can alter the query and indeed it works with the query you suggested when I execute it in this view. The result shows issues from both projects. However once I have done this I see no options in this view how I can apply the filter it to the current project. I can choose to save the query but it does not change the high lighted yellow query below once I go back to the view. When I do save as with another name I have no clue where it appears since I can't find it any longer. I can also see in the project Kanban that it's still only issues from the TODO project and not the other one I wrote in the query.
Huh? How are you supposed to do this?

Hi Tobias
No, I meant create a new board / edit an existing board, NOT project. To work with the board you show (which is only including project TOD at the moment), click on Edit Filter Query which will allow you to add other projects as per my example.

Thanks. I got it to work now. It's not straight forward in the GUI though so I would recommend whoever implemented this to simplify it a bit.
Also, one weird thing is that you seem to be able to have multiple filters ("save as" option) , but there seems to be no view to see those different filters. Or am I missing something obvious? As it is now I can't even relabel an existing filter ro a correct name because I get the message that there is already such a filter.

The picture looks the same as before, with the yellow highlight showing only one project

Sorry. You're too quick. :) I edited my answer this morning since I got it to work. Sorry about that. But thanks for your help to set me on the right track!
