I want to troubleshoot high CPU usage on JIRA 7.12.3 server. I would like to check what is going on in java threads. According to Atlassian documentation (link) I use JConsole to take a look on java on server. I have enabled JMX in jira settings. When I finally establish X11 connection and run JConsole I wasn't able to open local process. I have just received information that connection couldn't be established.
I have also tried to take a look on JAVA process via JVMTOP but also without success. I have received from jvmtop more usefull feedback like:
Startup.Bootstrap [ERROR: Connection refused/access denied]
Question is now what is blocking me to be able to look at Java process?
PS
All commands I'm doing as a root.
Hi!
You need to open a debug port
I have exactly the same issue. My staging instance refuses to let me do exACTLY the same as I can in Production - start the jconsole from within your Jira openjdk 17 installation.
It suggests jconsole or the Jira boot jvm process, and then fails SSL (like on Production, and I choose "Insecure Connection", and it fails to connect.
Would someone care to reveal what might be the issue?
( Standard installed Jira instance (Data Center 9.12.3) )
