Project KEY includes strike-through when filter is created

Julia R_

I have a Team-Managed project which shows each Key without a strike-through.

When a filter is created for this same project, a strike-through is displayed on the project Key for 2 Statuses.

How can I remove the strike-out formatting?

Thanks

Hello @Julia R_

Can you provide some screen images to show us what you are seeing?

Strike through typically appear when an issue is changed to a green/done status and the Resolution field is set.

Thank you, @Trudy Claspill

Attached are 3 screenshots

  • PROJECT VIEW displaying 3 statuses
    • Proposed (Strike-through  NO)
    • In Production (Strike-through  NO)
    • Decommissioned (Strike-through  NO)
  • FILTER VIEW displaying 3 statuses
    • Proposed (Strike-through  NO)
    • In Production (Strike-through  YES)
    • Decommissioned (Strike-through  YES)
  • WORKFLOW

Ideal Results for each Status regarding Strike-through:

  • Proposed  NO
  • Implementing  NO
  • In Production  NO
  • Decommissioned  YES

Hello @Julia R_

Thank you for that additional information. That is helpful.

Can you provide a screen image from the Board tab?

Can you tell us what type of project this is? You can get that information for the View All Projects page, or by clicking on the ... button next to the project name in the panel on the left.

Hello @Julia R_

Thank you for that additional information. That is helpful.

One last thing; can you provide a screen image from the Board tab?

Ahh, That is interesting.
LIST View does not show strike-through but BOARD View does show them.

Thank you for sticking with me, @Trudy Claspill

In the views that do show the strike through, that is shown because the Resolution field has been set on the issue.

Sorry, clicked Reply by mistake. I wasn't done with my answer.

In a Team Managed project the Resolution field is set automatically when an issue is transitioned to a status that has been assigned to the Done status category, identified by showing as a Green colored lozenge like the Done button above. You can see this in the Workflow also.

The Resolution field is cleared automatically when the issue is transition to a non-green/done status.

You could change the Category of the In Production status to blue/In-Progress, and going forward issues changed to that status would not have their Resolution field set and would not show a strike through. That would not clear the Resolution field of the issues already in that status. To clear the field you would need to transitions the issue to another status and then back to In Production.

As to why the strike through doesn't show on the List view, I have no answer for that. You might consider opening a support case directly with Atlassian to ask about that. If you do, it would be great if you report back here what you learn.

I did not spend much time looking through the public backlog to see if there was any information about this inconsistency, but you might want to review the information available for yourself.

You've been so helpful, @Trudy Claspill
I appreciate it.

I will reach out to support to find out why the List view varies in its display of the strike-through. Thank you!
