Project Start Date and End Date

Latish Panicker December 16, 2024

I manage multiple projects with varying start and end dates. I would like to know where I can input the project start and end dates so that the end date is visible either on the "Plan" or configurable within the Dashboard.

Please help.

Hi @Latish Panicker managing project-level start and end dates can be a bit complex because Jira does not natively support tracking start and end dates at the project level and you have to give a try by creating custom fields.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Thank you @Humashankar VJ

Could you please explain how to create custom fields at the project level? As far as I know, custom fields are only available at the issue level.

@Latish Panicker - Your understanding is right as custom fields are possible only at the issue level, even my call out above is not to create custom field at Project level, could be mis-interpreted.
