Projects not appearing in sprint

Nelson July 26, 2022

Hi all,
Hope you will be able to help me.

I created a sprint and wanted to add 2 projects to it.

I used the filters to make the selection of projects.

Unfortunately, only one of them appears in the sprint. I can't understand why.
Both projects are business projects; one is team-managed and the other is company-managed.

Below is the screenshot of the settings.

Would be great if I could get some help!
Thanks.

Hi @Nelson and welcome to the Community!,

You did not only add projects. Your filter in addition to selecting projects also says that you want to see only  issues assigned to 2 assignees and having a limited selection of statuses.

It is very likely that the issues from the project you are not seeing are not assigned to any of your assignees or not in the given statuses.

On a side note: you are trying to add issues to a board, not to a sprint. Adding issues to a sprint is something you do afterwards, by dragging them from the board's backlog into a sprint you add to the board.

Hope this helps!

Hi Walter,

Thanks for the answer. Realizing i wasnt precise enough.

The filters towards the assignees and statuses are on purpose.

I tried to add the projects to the board without those filters and same results - can see only one projects's issues in the board.

Hi @Nelson,

That brings us down to either permissions or column mappings. Two more things you can do:

  • Take your board filter JQL and run it in filters > advanced issue search. If don't see the issues from the second project there, you are facing a permissions issue (unlikely, as you've been able to add the project to your filter).
  • Check your column mapping in Board settings > Columns. It is very likely that certain statuses are not mapped to the columns of your board. Especially if one of your projects is team managed, you may see several statuses with the same names appearing. Make sure they are all mapped to the appropriate board columns.

@Walter Buggenhout
With the filters, I see all the issues.

For the columns, I did all the settings from the beginning cf screenshot:

In the sprint page, I see only one project:

Let me know if you need more info to solve this issue ...

You are sure you have added the issues to that sprint, right? If not, they should be in your backlog, where you can add them manually to the sprint.

Nelson July 28, 2022

The issues of the 2nd project do not appear in the backlog so I can't add them to the sprint.

Nelson July 28, 2022

Can it be an issue with permission on the concerned project?

Nelson July 28, 2022

I got it. Basically, the board accepts only "Tasks" and I wanted to add to it "Sub-tasks" that is why I can see the "sub-tasks" in the filters but not in the board.
Is there a way to add sub-tasks to the board and the sprints afterwards?
