R4J- Moving reqs into a folder

Billy Christie December 12, 2023

I tried asking this question before but it disappeared.

If I select a group of reqs and try to move them into a folder (or into another object to be children of that object), the initial order is not respected and the reqs appear in a different order after moving.

Any ideas? Is this a known bug or is there a better way to do this than the obvious (select, group and move)?

Hello @Billy Christie ,

thanks for highlighting this unacceptable behavior, we can be reproduce it.
Finding:

  • It does not happen always, depends on target location. Mostly ok in same folder level, wrong for other target level/folder.
  • It depend on the order of the selection. Top-down it´s mostly ok, any random selection result in changed order.

Suggest to select the order from top-down to get most reliable result for now.
Our dev team is informed to fix it with next release, most probably in January 2024.

Best Regards,

I just tried again. Out of 4 attempts selecting top-down, one resulted in an incorrect sequence moving within the same folder level; three were OK... so essentially, random.

Moving in a different folder level, it's almost always an incorrect sequence.

Selecting bottom-up, it's always an incorrect sequence.
