You can start by evaluating inbuilt Automation. If your requirements are simple and minimal automation is needed than I am confident Automation rules will be sufficient.
If you want to do bit more and have experience or resources to write scripts then ScriptRunner for Jira is one of the most popular app, also available on Jira Cloud where you can implement complex use cases.

Thank you, I think I just created an automated tool for the simple task in JIRA Cloud....I did take a look at ScriptRunner but, I do not think we need that at this point. I am going to continue trying to build automation rules on my end first. Thank you for your response.
