Regarding User Sessions in Jira, some show REST and some HTTP.

Profiling our Jira instance and I noticed some of the user sessions showing REST as the type. Does this imply those users are accessing Jira using another app or interface?

Nope.  They might be, but Jira talks to itself over REST on many dashboard gadgets, some parts of boards, some reports, and other places.  So some or all of those REST usages could just be a user using the Jira ui
