Release>> new version is missing on Kanban board

On Kanban board, until last week there is also used to be an option to create a "new version" under Release. Any idea, how to create a new version and release the stories on board?

are you on cloud or server? in my cloud instance i still am seeing "new version" under the Release button.

Thanks Jack for the response. We are on Cloud but still for some reason we are not able to see this option. We used to have this option until last week but disappeared suddenly. We haven't changed any settings from our side. Any other hint would be helpful.
