Remove field required on subtasks workflow transitions based on issue type

Hi Team,

Remove requirement of fields below for sub-tasks (Type=FI Task, WF Task, and Sub-task ) when the main task Type=Bug and Change Request, these fields are added on workflow transitions. Could you please guide me how to achieve this ?

Hi @Lakshmi CH  - you are probably better off modifying your existing transition that requires the fields to only require them for certain types and not try to remove the requirement. 

Can you post a screenshot of your existing transition?

WOW - that's quite the workflow!

But is there a particular transition you need assistance with? If so, what exactly do you need it to do that it is not doing right now? And can you click on the Validators or Conditions and show a screenshot of those details?

@John Funk , these custom fields BA Time Spent (Hours),SE Time Spent (Hours), QE Time Spent (Hours) were added on multiple transitions.  The requirement is ,these fields will not be mandatory when the issue types are Bug and Change Request and it must be required field  for other issue types.

You are going to need an add-on like JMWE. With that tool you could do a custom validator that would probably get what you need.

Without the add-on, you are not going to be able to use the Validator because you can't put conditions on Validators with out of the box Jira.

Great! Let's take a look at the Build Your Own Validator then. I will probably need some help with the syntax from the JMWE support folks but they are great to work with.
