Rename global status

So I created a new project and I renamed the workflow statuses manually, which led to the globals statuses being renamed. And now I cannot rename the statuses to the previous name. What can I do?

Statuses are global, in workflow they are mapped to steps.

You can find your statuses and rename them again by following this trail.

Hello there :) 
Thank you for reaching out. It was much more complicated than that, and I sorted it out now.

The problem was that I had different statuses with the same meaning and the mapping was weird. Anyway, I had to go through all of the statuses and see where they're used and correct them.
