Replying to threads in JIRA Slack app posts

Currently I have the JIRA app set up to post in a channel when issues are created. I can then comment from Slack back to the JIRA issue, transition them, etc.

What I cannot seem to do is leave a comment on the issue in JIRA and that comment get posted as a reply in thread to the Slack post. It seems only possible to have the comment get posted as a new post entirely which I do not want.

Is it possible to reply in thread in some way?

If you are open for 3rd party, you can try pagerly which is solving and providing the 2 way sync for more than 400+ orgs. You can have the comments sync from jira to slack thread or even a channel. Happy to answer any more questions if you have :)

We actually use Pagerly already for posting our on-call rotation. I quite like it, wish it was a bit more visually customizable but overall it is good.

So if I understand correctly, the Pagerly app would replace the JIRA app when posting a newly created Issue in Slack and would allow full sync of comments, transitions, assigning, etc. between JIRA and Slack and all of these actions could be completed in either JIRA or Slack?
