We are a partner facing organization. When my teams created their stories, they have to fill in a required field and put in the partner names. Does anyone know of any reporting that will show how much time spent on each partner? I am trying to determine how much time we spend on each partner. Thanks!
Hi @Anne Dixon , welcome to the community.
just to be clear simply recording the Partner does not necessarily translate to "Time spent". Do you really mean time here or are you just wanting to get a count of how many issues per partner? If the latter then I would simply use a dashboard and maybe a pie chart or two dimensional chart to illustrate the number of issues per partner. If you do truly mean time spent then that information would have to be recorded in each issue and totaled which would require some form of add-on or export for use with excel.
@Jack Brickey Thank you for your quick response! I'd like to know time spent on each partner. The team is tracking their time/logging their hours in their stories. I am currently exporting to an excel spreadsheet. I would like an easier way and view. If there isn't anything currently in Jira, do you have an add-on you recommended?

@Anne Dixon , while I am not positive I don't believe that you will be able to add new Applications to your server instance. I have seen in the marketplace notifications that would indicate the window has closed for adding applications to server. For example, the following is presented for one Time tracking Application...
As we continue to move towards a cloud future together, new server app sales and installs are no longer available for customers. You can update app version via Atlassian Marketplace until the end of support for server on Feb 15, 2024.
Here is what I would recommend, if you are not the administrator for your instance I would discuss this all with who ever is your admin. It may very well be that you have some app that would allow you to meet your goal.

@Jack Brickey I recently spoke to the Jira Admin and he wasn't aware of any reporting that could provide this data. We recently purchased an add on last week and was told we would be to purchase another add-on if needed to be able to get this data on how much time spend on partners.

Hi @Anne Dixon , you might look at timesheets-by-tempo-jira-time-tracking
however, as stated in the provided link I don't believe it is available for new server installs.

Hi @Anne Dixon
if I may provide a concrete Marketplace app recommendation, I believe this would work great with the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a range of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
With these, you'll be able to create a view like this in just a couple of clicks:
(I'm using a field named Assigned team here, but you could use any field.)
Since you've tagged your question for Jira Server: As you may have heard, apps sales have ended for Jira Server. Are you planning to migrate to Data Center or Cloud? I'd strongly recommend that. If you need some more time, JXL is perfectly compatible with Jira Server; it's just that we need to generate a license for you. If the above looks interesting, just let me know, and I'll happily start a free trial for you.
Best,
Hannes
