I have been researching this all week, and am turning to this expert community for help.
Understood: post-functions have to be added to status transitions that are moving to a done state (e.g. closed, cancelled, etc.). Without this, resolution is not set.
Given: None of the transitions in a project I've inherited have these post-functions set.
Also given: When running JQL, I can see resolution of Done is in fact set. Resolution date appears to work in the queries, but the resolution date is not a field that I can actually see and add to my view.
Not understanding: How is it happening that resolution is being set? Why isn't resolution date viewable?
I'm sure I'll be learning as this ticket progresses.
Thanks for your help.
Hi @Tim Arthur
Resolution value can also be set in a transition screen going into the end status. Check your transition and you should see a screen, similar to:
HTH,
KGM

I'm not seeing what you're suggesting. Could you provide a little more guidance? Transition details above lack the resolution setting action.

And on the workflow screens, no mention of your suggestion either. Feel like I'm looking in the wrong areas.

Aha! It looks like the resolve issue screen is configured sparingly, not comprehensively. Thank you for helping me find our issue. Next: How/when is resolution date set and how can I actually see it for resolved issues?

In the first screen image you provided you can see that a Screen has been attached to the Transition.
Regarding the Resolved date/time field it is displayed automatically for all issues that have the Resolution field set.

Thank you. My interest is in having it appear in a filter view from custom JQL. I can query on resolution date but the results are not visible.
SOLVED. JQL calls it resolution date but the list view calls it Resolved.

Tim, would you have tip for why I can't change/add post-functions to transitions? Is it a permission related issue?

I am guessing that is why but someone with more Jira experience would know for sure. Click the gear icon top right, then user management, then see what permissions you have. Pretty sure you'll need admin.
If you can't get that far, then likely it is a permissions issue.

Welcome to the community!
Can you provide a screen image of what you see when you're trying to add post functions?

Thank you @Trudy Claspill
My general problem is that I can't see resolved issues in Jira Roadmap.
It was suggested to create a transition from review to resolved states, in order to choose a resolution type. This step would require to select the resolution.
However, it seems like I need to set up post-functions as well.

Hello @Mytskaniuk
You did say "can't add/change post-functions", but your previous reply is not showing the problem you are encountering. To change post functions you would click on the Post Functions link in the pop-up you see on the right when you click on a transition in the workflow.
