Hi
I am end user and we have 2000 users in my organisation and when i created a page in confluence , i want to restrict that page to limited users .(this can be done by restricting each and every user and this takes long process) instead of this do we have any other alternate solution which can be done in single step.
Note:: For adding those users in to single group also takes long process
Hi Kondaparthy,
I would restrict everyone to access the page except for the people who want to access it.
You can do this by clicking the 'lock' from the top left part of the page editor and set view/edit permissions only to the users and groups that should access the page.
Ideally, it best if you use groups to reduce time granting permissions instead of inserting members one-by-one. You can also set pages under that page and they will inherit the same permissions from the parent

Jason
Hi Jason,
Thank you for your immediate response,
But in my organisation i have only one group ( let's say X group) and everybody(2000 users ) are in that group. so i want to give permission to only 300 users among that group.
So ,if i want to make a separate group for those 300 users also takes long time by inserting one by one.
Rather than the above option's do we have any other alternate option to solve this problem.

I think its best if you start planning on creating those groups. It is best practice to use more than 1 group if you are managing 2000 users. They will be quite useful in the future and you should also add a procedure to add new users to the right group and use nested groups.
Here is an example of how nested groups can be used:

You can also add a person to 1 group and it can automatically be applied to other parent groups for example 'confluence-users'.
I hope this is helpful enough
Cheers,
Jason

It should work now

I don't know any other approach besides adding single users to restrictions or using groups.
Maybe it is easier to create the groups in your User Directory (I think, you have one, if 2000 people work in your organization) edit them there and use them in your Confluence.
