Hi,
I'm trying to figure a way by which I can restrict working on Sub task if the parent is not approved. In my organization, Approval state is EC REVIEW.
I tried using Automation and below is something which I have come up with.
I think only action that can be done is notify the user. Is there a way to restrict the transition of sub task?
Hello Anand,
Automation for JIRA Support team member here!
Restrict transitions is not something we do currently. For this, you need to use Jira workflow validators and conditions, to prevent transitions from happening.
We currently only re-act to issue events, so for example after a transition has happened, do something with an automation rule. There's already plenty of apps out there, offering custom validators/conditions for workflows, so it's probably not something we'll add anytime soon.
Hope that helps!
Let me know if you got any further question.
Cheers,
Victor
@Victor Seger Thanks for the repose. I'm using automation for few other things one of which is triggering an email when a JIRA is added after the sprint starts (any JIRA which is added after 2 days from the sprint start day). This is what I've figured out so far but I think it's not working:
If possible could you please help me with this?
