Retrieve the time spent by a user without retrieving the other user's spent time

If several users logged time against an issue, I want to retrieve only the logged time by one user for a collection of issues.

Hi @Fernando Waisfeld

Unfortunately, Jira does not support this feature out of the box. There are several apps on the Marketplace; if you are open to utilising a free app, I'd suggest SnapMetrics - Real Time Analytics, which includes a Time by Assignees report that you can also filter by specific user(s). I am one of the folks behind this app.

Hi @Fernando Waisfeld

Welcome to  the community !!

As suggested by Trudy, a mktplace app can help here. If you would like to try one, pls take a look at

Worklogs Time Tracking in Jira & Timesheets

With this add-on, you can easily view all time entries for multiple issues day wise / month wise, user wise, grouped by in a single view. Also filter worklogs created between a date range as shown below. Main features of the app -

  • Create time reports in real time by grouping & categorizing data with aggregation
  • Prepare your reports based on Project/Sprint/Issue Type/Assignees and various other filters
  • Group your data to build more meaningful reports
  • CSV Export
  • Dashboard gadget
  • Enter Time Spent for multiple issues from Timesheet screen. With Calendar view and Board view

Hello @Fernando Waisfeld

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Jira Cloud does not natively provide a method to do that through the UI. You would need to use a third party app that provides more complex/customizable time tracking reporting.

You could create you own custom solution using the Jira REST API as an alternative.

Are you willing to consider a third party app?

Hi @Fernando Waisfeld ,

Jira does not currently support filtering worklogs by author directly within the issue view. If you're open to using a third-party application, I recommend trying one of the time-tracking apps available on the Atlassian Marketplace.
WorklogPRO is a good option. It provides a customizable table within the Worklog tab of the issue view, allowing you to easily group by relevant fields and filter worklogs by user directly on the issue.
Additionally, WorklogPRO enables you to create reports and charts based on the author outside of the issue view, offering more flexibility in analyzing worklogs.

Hi, @Fernando Waisfeld! 👋

In the native Jira UI, there’s no built-in way to filter time spent by a specific user across multiple issues — the time tracking field always shows the total for all users. You can open the Activity → Work log tab on each issue (with correct permissions), but that only shows raw entries and doesn’t summarize by user.

I suggest using JetTime app for that, it solves this cleanly: it supports per-user visibility using Jira permissions, so team members only see their own logged time if that’s what you need. It also organizes worklogs by user and gives clear summaries right inside the issue panel or across reports:

The My Work section in JetTime shows all time logged by the current user across all Jira issues, neatly organized by date, project, or issue:

Hi @Fernando Waisfeld ,

Yes, it is possible to see the time each user spent on various issues, but Jira lacks detailed reports for each user without extra tools. Since time tracking reports collect the total time spent by all users on each issue, it’s not easy to view it by a single user.

For such detailed data, I suggest using Time & Cost Tracker for Jira. It lets you:

  • Easily filter worklogs by a specific user for any project or group of tasks.

  • See just how long each person spent working on each issue.

  • Generate reports that show how much time a user has spent working on different issues or projects.
  • Export filtered data for further analysis or sharing.

Hi @Fernando Waisfeld and welcome to the community!

Your use case fits very well with the capabilities of the Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports app by SolDevelo.

The app allows you to display/retrieve time logs that were only log by a specific user. For example, on the screenshot below I display time logged only by Aloise user.time logs.png

This data can be also exported to the CSV file or display in the form of the chart. The data can be filters in many ways with the usage of custom fields, JQL, for different date range etc.

Of course if you need it is possible to display and export time logs for multiple users.

If you have any questions contact us or schedule a meeting. We will be happy to meet you!
