I have just deleted a project with nothing in it (I created a next-gen project and then realised I needed a classic project). Trying to create a new project with the same name is telling me that the name already exists.

Is there a way of reusing the name? And what  about the code?

Thanks!

Found the answer!

Very well hidden in a few menus there is a trash bin for deleted projects:

Settings (gear icon) > Jira Settings > Projects > Trash

Go there and you can delete the project permanently. You can reuse the name and key.

Hi Jay Cano,

when I click for administration the "gear icon", I can't see the "Jira-Settings" menu.

I can see the "Projects" menu there, but there is no "Trash" submenu underneath, and there is also no "Trash button" on the project page.

I use the Jira-Server. Do you use the Cloud-Version?
