Let's assume, I want to remove a user from jira, i.e. that user is no longer using JIRA (not a team member any more), and I don't want to pay for the license I had for that user.
Will revoking cover my need? Or should I remove the user from Jira? (and will in case of removing, the name of the creator of the ticket be under the reporter)
Hello.
In user management, when you click on somebody's profile you have two choices :
either you can completely remove the user
or you can juste switch off the Jira Software access and site access.
Either of those option should do the trick.
Let me know if it helped.
Hi, thanks for a quick response. Just to confirm - in both cases I will no longer pay for that user? (this is actually my only concern)

Yes, it won't count as a license anymore, whether you Revoke their access or completely Remove the user. :)

I have the same issue. I have the free license and I need to remove users from Jira. when I go to admin I do not see the users. when I go to Jira>>People I see the users that I want to remove. but there is no option to remove them. How do I remove users from Jira given I have the free license?
