Roadmap change Epic to my new issue type (Feature and Sub Feature)

Hi

I have create a two new issue type, feature and sub feature. Now I would like to create a Roadmap with only feature and sub features. I have search to forum and haven't found what I want to do. So I would like to change Epic to mya new issue types (Feature and sub feature)

Hi @Victor Wallenberg ,

Jira follows Epic > Story > Subtask Hierarchy you cannot make any changes in this.

You can add many level above the Epic in Plan like 

Improvement >Feature > Epic > Story > subtask.

You can do one thing You can Rename Epic Issue Type as Feature and use Epic as Feature.

May i know what kind of hierarchy you are looking for? accordingly i will suggest a better workaround.

Well, i thought so but I needed to ask the question. I have work with SW development for 30 years or so and seen how it has developed in a god way, but what always make me a lite frustrated is that the process between Product owner and the IT team is disrupted. Let me explain.

If you have a Vision I want to break down the vision into features, maybe to sub features and also task, this is in the phase where we haven't decide to add the feature to our software. For now I need two Jira projects, one for the first part and one for the development part. So works but we can't follow a Feature from idea to customer sanctification, the whole product development process.

If I do as you suggest, renaming Epic and so on, I would like to link and Feature (Epic) in one project to an Epic in another project, is that possible?

An epic cannot have another epic linked to it using the Epic Link field, however two Epics can be linked using standard link features (i.e. relates to, duplicates,...)

One thing you can do it as you can introduce Feature as new Issue type

which will link to Epic

Feature > Epic > Story > Subtask

Here Feature ( Vision from One project) will link to Epic of another Project ( Development). Here you can add more level above feature in future if you want to add.

You can configure and see that in the Roadmap as well  like this. Same hierarchy will be display in the plan
