Hello,

I'm a newbie and I need help. I will try to explain this as well as I can.

I want to make possible on transition between specific column, to display a screen. My dev team always forget to log work and comment their work so I really NEED to do this in order to have the work logged and commented.

So I have on multiple projects this type of columns:

To Do

In Progress

In Review

Check Dev

Testing Ok

Check Release

Done

Closed

For example:

I want to display a screen with Log Work and Comment when an issue is moved from In Progress -> In review .

Same screen I want to be displayed when issues are moved from Check Dev-> Testing OK.

I've been following the steps in many articles, but there are a lot of links redirecting me to "how to do this and that" and it's confusing me.

Can someone give me a direct answer to my question, it would be very helpful if you can do it in steps.

Thank you !

Hi @elenushhh ,

I'm sorry you had such a difficult time finding an answer to your question.

To add a screen, first you need to create a screen in your Issue settings

Once the screen is created, configure the screen to include which fields you'd like.

Then go to the Workflow settings and edit the workflow you want to drop the screen into.

Find the transition that you want to include the screen on and edit that transition

There will be a dropdown at the bottom of the transition edit window where you can select the screen you want to display.

As a bonus:

If you want to require the fields to be completed, put a validator on the screen fields that you are requiring so that they have to complete those fields before the transition occurs,

Best of luck!

Thank you, Meg!

It works, I actually followed the exact same steps ( before making this post) but my problem was on editing the workflow, I managed to add the screen to the transition but couldn't go further from there.  I have another question:

The fields on the screen are not required so it can be moved forward with a click ... this is not helpful, but if I make the fields required ( if this is possible) then another problem occurs. The user who already log work and comment, should do the same when the screen is displayed on transition and this means duplicated log work and comment... So the only thing I can do is to let them know that they should log their work and comment directly on the screen. And another thing, The comment field is not displayed when creating the screen only the description and I want it to appear in comment because this is how I track their work...

Some tips ?
