Before the update, we could search by the issue key/ ticket number, this feature is no longer working and no search results appear when you enter a number into the search box.

Is there a quick an easy way I can search issues by number again?

Wondering has this been solved already? If not, the following works for me, maybe you can give it a try!

Type the following in the advance search box:

Key = Ticket Number

Cheers!

Hello Una,

Go to your JIRA advanced setting page. <your url>/secure/admin/AdvancedApplicationProperties.jspa. Then change jira.projectkey pattern to ([A-Z][A-Z]+). Let me know how it goes

Er, that's nothing to do with a search not working.

Well, it worked for us. After the upgrade project key pattern was defaulted to letters and numbers. Some users felt like the search has entirely change and their old queries didn't work. After changing this pattern old queries worked.

Thought this could help Una as well

It wouldn't have been that that fixed the search.

When user searched for "AN123-26", JIRA thought that it is a issue key and returned no results saying "no issue with that key exists". After changing the format it worked for us. I am aware that users could wrap the text to get right results.
