Hi Alex, is this a duplicate (brief version) of this thread - Done-Resolved-Epics-with-UnResolved-NOT-Done-Issues-Story-Task

Alex Lithgow April 17, 2020

@Jack Brickey - I was trying to express different ways of searching for different conditions.  This is not a duplicate.  The other is looking for the parent Epics.  This one i was hoping to search for the "issues in Epic" that meet specific search criteria comparing their status with their parent epic.

There are four searches total across my posts:

  1. Unresolved Epics where all the issues in Epic are Resolved
    - Search results would be Epics

  2. Resolved Epics where NOT all of the issues in Epic are Resolved
    - Search results would be Epics

  3. Resolved Issues where the Epic is Unresolved, for which they are issues in epic.
    - Search results would be Issues NOT Epics, such as Stories, Tasks, etc.

  4. Unresolved Issues where the Epic is Resolved, for which they are issues in epic.
    - Search results would be Issues NOT Epics, such as Stories, Tasks, etc.

Thanks for the clarification. You will need an addon like Scriptrunner, JQL Search Extensions or similar for this.
